FAO Regional Workshop on Rice and Aquaculture held in Lusaka, Zambia

I was invited to attend the FAO Regional Workshop on Rice and Aquaculture for Productivity Increase and Market Development for Central, Southern and East Africa. It was held here, in Lusaka Zambia, from 7 to 11 February 2011. It focused on productivity increase and market development.

2nd Conservation agriculture association (CAA) thematic meeting held in Lusaka, Zambia

7 September 2010

The second thematic meeting of the Conservation Agriculture Association (CAA) was held on 1 September 2010 in Lusaka at Pamodzi Hotel. The meeting which was themed Conservation Agriculture as a business was attended by over 60 participants from various public and private sector organization in agriculture in Zambian. Golden Valley Agriculture Research Trust (GART), Research Into Use (RIU) Zambia and Conservation Farming Unit (CFU) co-facilitated the meeting during which seven presentations from private sector actors, research and other stakeholders were made and discussed.

Zambia priorities

Our key priority until 2011 is to test a series of interventions to make an impact on getting conservation agriculture research into use in Zambia. We also have a second, smaller project which is working with rice producers.
